From one Entrepreneur to another - This is what I learnt!

Attention Entrepreneurs!

Here are few tips which help you to run your business more smoothly.

Whether you have been running your business for 3 months or 3 years or 10 years, there is no limit to the things that will help you become successful.

With Social Media we are bombarded with “value bombs”, video content, images and all sorts of messaging crying for our attention.

Every entrepreneur is writing a book this year it seems. Have you noticed that? Nothing wrong with that, I’m writing one too. Ha!

You see, there is so much we CAN do and if you’re not careful, you can go about trying to do absolutely EVERYTHING.

That’s how ‘most people’ approach their business. And I was exactly like that when I started...

Can you guess what the result was? Yep! Burn out because I could't physically keep up, I got overwhelmed and in the end, nothing really got done. That lead me to feel frustrated and anxious

Have you been there?

If you still struggling with it, check out these tips below which I found very helpful in my business. Actually not just helpful, bloody slice of heaven!

1. Narrow Your Focus. Yep, my mind is very busy so I may be writing an email, then remember I have to call my mate, I call my mate, then I forgot what the hell was I doing? So, narrowing my focus is something I had to practice. A lot! But, it actually saves me a lot of time now. When you do a task, keep your focus 100% on the task. You might need to keep reminding yourself to do it and everything else just have to wait their turn in an orderly queue! Then you just move on to the next task and narrow your focus to that task only. Rinse and repeat.

2. Digital Tasking. I love paper diary, paperback books etc so for a long time I kept my 'to-do' lists on paper. Well, it didn't really work out that well. It was messy and I kept misplasing it and my cat kept walking all over it as I was working. So, I signed up to HubSpot Tasks which Free feature is actually very useful for tasking. I time myself to complete the tasks and I even schedule in my breaks or else, I will forget to take one. You'd be surprised how much more proactive I am.

3. Discipline. When I was working as a lawyer, discipline came naturally yet I didn't have to think about what happened in the background. I had a CEO for that. Now, I am the CEO. Discipline is the hardest thing I had to master when I became self-employed. So, when I create my 'to-do' list, I add a timeframe to complete my tasks and I stick to it. Trust me. I feel more in control and I get more done. HubSpot is a great tool for this but mostly, it is probably your 'why' that does most of the work here.

You got this, you superhuman! You are doing more amazing than you think you do. You just needed a little nudge to keep you going! And Congratulations for taking the road less travelled because that makes all the difference
